The last barrier

What is the relationship between a work of art and its author? Questioning myself about this is urgent for me, because it implies explaining my emotional positioning in front of the works I create. To me painting is a match between emotion and control. When there is a disharmony or a prevalence in this match, it transfers to the support and results in weakness. A successful artwork is a moment of perfect joy. You have to sweat, train yourself to let go, to be patient, correct, recalibrate, break through walls, open doors. It's all about bringing beauty into dark corners. It is definitely a work on oneself. I deeply feel that art expresses what we are, all the way through. Everything we have experienced and understood in life, our level of personal evolution, this is what ends up in an artwork. There is no technique or material that can change this. It is like looking at ourselves in the mirror and measuring in real time our ability to go to the bottom. Each artwork has something definitive and what is formed on the support is a kind of pro tempore testament. Till the next "last barrier".
