I think it was Marc Chagall who said "When the color is right, the form is right. Color is everything (...)." Every painter feels it. Color rules, yes, but does not recite poems by heart.
Some painting is mute, even if it suggests that it is screaming. You feel the surface, but beneath there is nothing, like a gift-wrap without the gift. An impenetrable and hostile screen. An unaware closure,so watertight that it doesn't let any vibration pass through. This is a state of great unhappiness, a sense of dismay, a loss of contact, and it manifests itself clearly.
Art, on the contrary, is about permeability: a background chatter, an infinite resounding of echoes,a wonder, a touch, a sparkle that corrodes opacity. Color has a lot to say about the artist who uses it, because wholesomeness is a universe of colors that rejects standards.
